Established in 1975, Rookswood provided the top class service in Wedding Car Hire for some 33 years. After such a long time in the industry we decided to slow down due to a few major factors. Wedding Services were no longer being celebrated in Churches or venues away from the reception, and there was a subsequent reduction in the need for Luxury Vehicle Hire which we provided. Secondly the financial crisis of 2008 meant a considerable reduction in available funds for Wedding services. Finally, there was an influx of inferior vehicles available and unfortunately, due to their condition, lack of maintenance and, possibly even more worrying, lack of correct insurance made these vehicles fees appear attractive. We were often consulted late when a failure elsewhere left some Brides without transport! However, time had helped reduce these factors and we have recently purchased our immaculate Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit 2 after over a decade of waiting on her availability. We already have on fleet a six door Mercedes Limousine, which although not primarily intended for weddings can be brought into service for the larger group of Bridesmaids.

We do not charge an "idle time fee" or waiting time after service for the photographs, as we understand is prevalent today. We are pleased to attend services outside our fixed price area, and will be glad to discuss options and fees in this eventuality. We consider it unprofessional to insist, or try to convince you that you must have an additional vehicle for your Bridesmaids. If at all possible, bearing in mind distance and numbers, we shall be happy to collect the Bride's Mother and Maids, convey to service and then return for the Bride and her Father. However, after service the sole vehicle is for the Bride & Groom only to reception. Due to our inability to monitor and control vehicles other than our own, we regret we are unable to attend services where other hire vehicles have been commissioned, except in the case of Horse & Carriage, and a bus for the guests.

We do not intend to be such major players in the Wedding Services, as we were and will never return to the "old" days when we had a fleet of 11 vehicles. Our present vehicles are solely intended for top quality chauffeur work and will never be considered as available for Stag/Hen nights etc. You may rest assured our vehicles will attend your wedding in outstanding condition since we have always striven for exceptionally high quality and will be able to ensure this even more by offering a more intimate personal service than before.
